For this SF backyard we started with the slate patio design and filled the perimeter with a lush palette that played up the modern aesthetic of the plan. To make sure the patio didn't feel like one big gray square, we added in pebble cutouts and spaced pavers with groundcover in-between. The client has a tranquil space for lounging, cocktail hour, dinner parties and a great view from the second story windows.
