Instead of a water hungry lawn we designed a low-water, high impact perennial meadow for this front yard in the Oakland hills. We incorporated natives like California Poppies with prairie perennials like Echinacea, mixed with drought tolerant grasses and shrubs. The poured concrete front walk is open, inviting and adds symmetrical order in juxtaposition to the lush meadow. For a finishing touch we selected front porch tiles to add a vintage look that feels at home with the California Bungalow architecture.
